Thy Name is SerenityA chance meeting one late night,Thy Name is Serenity by =boribam
Upon the web I dare delight,
I met a girl so sweet and sheen,
Wrapped up in a world full of unseen;
Wonders, adventures, myths, and tales:
In all these things we did regale.
In an arena did it start:
The gradual descent into my heart.
A kind and innocent sweet young thing—
All I wanted was to protect with feathered wing.
A wing of black and a wing of white:
A light protected by a valiant knight.
The years, they passed, and friendships swell
Into a singing harmonious bell;
One day I heard sweet bell's toll,
And knew she'd make my life whole.
An angel of earth, delivered to me,
Bearing the name

"What are you?"
An honest question. Right up there with, "Who are you?", "Who am I?", and "What am I?"
For a while, I was unsure of how to answer that question.
I thought myself a monster. I thought myself a dreadful abomination that ruined everything it touched.
I wallowed in despair. I lost sight of what was right. I lost sight of who I was, and I lost sight of my purpose in life.
But then, I met an angel.
I didn't realize it at first, but over time I came to recognize the signs.
She was always worrying about others, even when she was the one hurt.
She always tried to make others happy, even while she suffered in silence.
Then the angel met me, and showed me her ways.
She cleared my vision. She made me realize that I was no monster.
She made me feel wanted. She made me feel like I had purpose, again.
She made me realize that all those that called me monstrous or evil were just blind to the truth.
I always knew that truth was a frightening thing.
Many people run from it. Others attack it, or others because of it.
Everyone's truth is different. Many share similarities, but they're never the same.
And this angel, she made me see one truth in particular.
A memory.
She reminded me of what I am: who I am.
I'm a paladin.
And I will never forget that ever again.
